Probiotics principally inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and decrease their pathogenicity, enhance the nutritive value of aquaculture animals and improve the quality of aquaculture water. True probiotics are bacteria that are found naturally associated with the animal which when added at a high dose convey a beneficial effect without any side effects.
BACIMOR contains a high concentration (50 billion Bacillus spores per gram) of a scientifically selected consortium of gram-positive Bacillus species that occur naturally in the intestinal tracts of shrimps and sea/freshwater sediments. These Bacillus species work very well in aerobic and anaerobic conditions in the gut and also in the sediments. They also grow well in wide ranges of salinity (0 – 70 PPT) and at different pH levels. They work well both in fresh and seawater and do not form any residues.
